Our Trip To Domain des Iles
Our party consisted of 3 Anglers myself (Perry), Pete and Steve. We set off from Bolougne on Friday Morning, but 10 minutes from the lake the radiator in my Cherokee Jeep decided to burst and over heat the car. The lads drove to the lake and came back with a towrope. An hour after telling Bernard what had happened there was a lorry at the lake to pick up the jeep. It turned out that the head gasket had gone as well. Bernard was superb and sorted out all the arrangements, the car was repaired and back to me on the Thursday ready for me to drive home on the Friday.
Anyway now to the fishing. The fishing was relatively slow compared to other visits but we knuckled down to the job in hand and ended up having a few nice fish. Pete had a 33 pound Mirror (a personal best for him), Steve had 10 fish to 33 pounds including a 33 pound grass carp (a personnel best for him) and I had 7 fish including a 46 pound Common (a personal best for me).
We all thoroughly enjoyed the week apart from the car problems and Bernard was his usual helpful self. While we were there some other lads had a broken bait boat so Bernard knowing every one in the region took it to some friends he knows and got it repaired for them.
We would like to thank Bernard for his hospitality and all of his help during a difficult week.
Below are some photos of some of the better fish of the week.
